Glittering Light Greetings on this auspicious Brumal Solstice 2012 and Happy Birthday Solstice Tree blog – 1 year old today!
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the Spring of hope, it was the Winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way- in short, the period was so far like the present period…. A Tale of Two Cities, 1859 Charles Dickens
This day is the most famous Hyemal, Brumal Solstice because it is also the final day of the Mayan calendars, representing the Shift of Ages and a new Cosmic Chapter never before experienced! As one door closes, another opens. It has been a time of much speculation and confusion, not so different from Dickens writing in 1859 about the year 1755, the time of the French Revolution. Yet, paradoxically, our current era is also the age of mass information. Though, as Keats once quoted: “Believe not every spirit, but try the Spirits whether they are of God, because many false Prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John Vi Persisting as an unstoppable force through the chaos and disinformation, the times have been, and continue to be: the Age of Illumination and Revealing, both individually and in our collective consciousness. More ancient knowledge, instead of hoarded for the few in private libraries, is available to all via books or much faster by the internet. Despite the attempted suppression of such learning (or the banning of vital healing substances such as iodine in some countries), the inner and outer revelations and realisations are occurring now.
Fear them not therefore ……… For nothing is concealed that shall not be made manifest, nor anything secret that shall not be known and come to Light. What has been said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what was whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.
The First Law of the Univers is Freedom of Choice
The beautiful possibilities of what we may co-create at this powerful time are infinite. The simple story below is a metaphor for life and it embodies my whole philosophy. I’ve always felt bewildered and bemused by the need to compete with anyone but myself, in love or in life. What possible value could it have unless there is Honesty and Sharing? My Mother always said she was happy as long as everyone else was happy. There’s nothing we can’t accomplish when each of us sees the other as our Self. The hierarchical, egotistic, materialistic, selfish, controlling, oppressive patriarchal times could never achieve that; and now they are ending. The future world can be built on Love, Compassion and Co-operation.
I Am Because We Are
An anthropologist proposed a game to children of an African tribe. He put a basket of fruit near a tree and told the kids that the first one to reach the fruit would win them all. When he told them to run, they all took each other’s hands and ran together, then sat together enjoying the fruits.
When asked why they ran like that, as the winner could have taken all the fruit for him or herself, they said “Ubuntu, how can one of us be happy if all the others are sad”? Ubuntu is a philosophy of African tribes that can be summed up as: “I am because we are.” (via Graeme Dinnen’s Newsletter)My African drum I came upon in Zambia in the 1970s, standing on a Batik from Sri Lanka in the 1980s, a piece of Holly Wood not from Hollywood (used by Druids to control by illusion – Jordan Maxwell), hand made drumsticks (by me: sponge, organic cotton and string!); and a flute from Kew Gardens!
All ancient global cultures celebrated the return of the Light at this time of year. WB Yeats (1865-1939), in his poem The Second Coming says: “the ceremony of innocence is drowned”. Perhaps meaning the rituals practised, once widely, according to real movement/time: astrological/astronomical and seasonal. He refers to the “widening gyre” – the spiral that forms all life; and of the “Spiritus Mundi” – the collective spirit of humankind i.e. that each sentient being is connected to a higher central intelligence. The future is malleable and created by us through higher knowledge.
Though Nature lies dormant, Yule signifies the return of the Light at the Hyemal Solstice which is a celebration of re-awakening, of rebirth. As a Naturopathic Nutritionist and Nature Spirit Lover, in the days leading up, I’ve been preparing for this Cosmic cellular cleanse that happens to each of us (please refer to my post of one year ago for more information); and the raising of vibrational consciousness, by increasing the naturopathic techniques and fasting which has occurred naturally.
I feel absolutely wonderful as a result and I’ve also practised a lot more drumming, inter-world journeying, rattling, chanting, singing opera, yoga, 5 Tibetan Rites, meditation, contemplation, giving myself Reiki attunements, attuning trees (I’m receiving a Solstice attunement today); releasing unnecessary energy patterns; forgiving myself and others; dissolving out-dated soul contracts, if there are any – and finishing a painting!
The fact that man’s body is a speck of dust on a small planet leads to the illusion that man himself is a small creation. The measure of the soul is the limitless activity of mind and the grandeur of imagination. Transcription from a reading, There is a River about Edgar Cayce
“Know thyself” was written over the portal of the antique world. Over the portal of the new world, “Be thyself” shall be written. And the message of Christ to man was simply “Be thyself.’” That is the secret of Christ. Oscar Wilde 1854-1900
I send to you from my Heart, infinite wishes for a lighter life filled with Love, Truth, Laughter and Inspiration to become and manifest all that is good in You!
However, you spend it, Happy Holy Day.

Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things
which escape those who dream only by night.
—Edgar Allan Poe
We must continuously keep in mind
that the world is a collective dream,
and that we are engaged
in dreaming a new world into being.
You must not for one instant give up the effort to build new lives for yourselves. Creativity means to push open the heavy, groaning doorway to life. This is not an easy struggle. Indeed, it may be the most difficult task in the world, for opening the door to your own life is, in the end, more difficult than opening the doors to the mysteries of the universe. Daisaku Ikeda
