Chagaccino and Maca Balls!

O Autumn, laden with fruit, and stain’d
With the blood of the grape, pass not, but sit
Beneath my shady roof; there thou may’st rest,
And tune thy jolly voice to my fresh pipe,
And all the daughters of the year shall dance!
Sing now the lusty song of fruits and flowers.

To Autumn, William Blake

Dear Evolving Earth Dwellers!

Everything is still an enriching green, including the old quince tree in Bishops Palace (above).     However, the “Season of mists” is almost upon us and, in the Summer months approaching the Autumnal Equinox 2012 (tomorrow), I’ve experienced an enormous cleansing, purification, clarification! –  mentally, spiritually and physically – which will continue to be a lifelong, ongoing process.    It’s been a willing and effortless release of old toxic chemical waste I never asked for and a letting go of the energetic vibration of less than ideal experiences.      I’ve also found myself eating even less and consuming fewer dense foods – and inadvertently bending spoons again!

 The early Autumn September Sun is still warming during the day but the evenings are heralding the coolness to come.       Here is a warming drink I like to make at this time of year;  (an especially good alternative for those who still consume dairy latte.  I’ve never liked cow’s milk or sugar even as a child – and this is also nourishing for children). There are dozens of variations.

As Summer into Autumn slips
And yet we sooner say
“The Summer” than “the Autumn,” lest
We turn the sun away.           Emily Dickinson

Chagaccino    I named it this  (it amuses me) as I use either Reishi or Chaga mushroom powder to give it a latte tint.      Tree mushrooms, as previously discussed, are of enormous value to cleansing our bodies, as they do for trees (please never remove mushrooms from trees).

This particular frothy concoction also contained:  freshly made sprouted Almond and Cashew milk; one Cardamom Seed; grated Nutmeg; Cinnamon; Lucuma; English Toffee Stevia; raw Seggiano Honey, optional.     Whizz everything up in a high speed blender to the right temperature (not scalding or it will no longer be RAW) and serve with a sprinkle of raw cacao or carob powder or ground cacao nibs.      You can also make this into a “hot” chocolate using raw cacao; and either serve it in liqueur glasses or a large coffee bowl cup.   Very heart warming!

Maca Carob Truffle Balls     These evolved because they are so simple to make, easy to carry with you or eat as a snack; and this particular recipe contains hormone balancing adaptogenic herbs,* protein, vitamin C, Omega 3, and is low glycaemic, amongst other gorgeous live food benefits your cells will celebrate!  You can use any or all of the following ingredients; here’s what I put in mine this time:

Almond and Cashew Pulp (after making milk for the above drink); freshly ground Flaxseeds; ground Cacao Nibs; ground Sesame seeds; Soaked Goji Berries; Maca* (not too much, it has a strong taste – lemon goes well with it);  Ashwaganda;*  Agnus Castus;* Carob (which also sweetens); Cinnamon; Stevia; Xylitol (ground);  Reishi mushroom powder; Baobob (high vitamin c fruit which also adds sweetness) and about a cup of melted coconut oil; Lemon juice or water if required to combine.      Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.    Test for taste.     Have  fun rolling your balls into any size you like!   Then roll into coconut, sesame seeds, cacao nibs etc to decorate.     Mine here are shown with slices of fresh fig.

Go, sit upon the lofty hill,
And turn your eyes around,
Where waving woods and waters wild
Do hymn an autumn sound.
The summer sun is faint on them —
The summer flowers depart —
Sit still — as all transform’d to stone,
Except your musing heart.

How there you sat in summer-time,
May yet be in your mind;
And how you heard the green woods sing
Beneath the freshening wind.
Though the same wind now blows around,
You would its blast recall;
For every breath that stirs the trees,
Doth cause a leaf to fall.

Hear not the wind — view not the woods;
Look out o’er vale and hill —
In spring, the sky encircled them —
The sky is round them still.
Come autumn’s scathe — come winter’s cold —
Come change — and human fate!
Whatever prospect Heaven doth bound,
Can ne’er be desolate.        The Autumn, Elizabeth Barrett Browning

The peaceful walled garden with vinery/orangery and 25 varieties in pairs of apple trees all of which provides produce for the cafe; in the distance: All Saints Church steeple (dates back to 1130) where Patrick Troughton was impaled by a falling cross in “The Omen”; sprinting squirrel with fruit to the right, all at Bishops Palace.

Fruitful Autumnal Blessings!
